A New Literary Community Cookbook

Among the programs that provide ideas for food is Table of contents, An organization founded in 2012 by Egg of Chef Evan Hanzor in Williamson, Brooklyn. Among its activities are dinners inspired by literary works, both classics such as “The Sun Also Rises,” and, in 2016, new works with edible references read by their authors. Mr. Hanzore does the cooking. The group also publishes a monthly newspaper. And now it has a bright new “Tables of Contents Community Cookbook” with 41 recipes and some arts from literary contributors. They include Eileen Miles’s recipe for Falafel; Angela Flornoy’s collard greens in coconut milk; Alexander Chi’s turkey Aloe Kema; And Helen Phillips’ Grape Custard.
