He said: “We have a great opportunity in Idaho to not only preserve our rights and freedoms, but we can thrive by expanding and following the principles of freedom and prosperity that were given to us by our Founding Fathers and our state.” and were enshrined in the US Constitution.”
Late last month, Little rescinded an executive order banning mask mandates by state entities, issued the day before McGatchin was out of state. Describing the move as an “irresponsible, self-appointed political stunt”, the governor said at the time that “the action that took place when I was traveling this week is not the governor.”
Bundy’s campaign site also includes criticism of Little’s handling of the pandemic, as well as accusations and misogyny against what he claims.
Bundy made national headlines in 2016, when he led the armed capture of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, which lasted 41 days and ended in a fierce standoff with police, killing one. Bundy and 15 others were convicted by a federal grand jury. He was later acquitted.
He was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. He missed his hearing date in March after being denied entry to the Ada County Courthouse because he refused to wear a mask.
The Idaho gubernatorial primary is scheduled for next year.
