“Two of my other weddings were with actors and I don’t think we did a great job of finishing the competition,” Faris told Paltrow. “Or at least I didn’t do it, being a proud person, and didn’t want to reveal vulnerability.”
(Faris married actor Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008, before he married Pratt.)
Farris continued: “Any signs of competition and comparison, I didn’t handle very well, I don’t think. And I hope I’ve grown up with it.”
In 2017, Faris and Pratt separated after eight years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2018. They shared an 8-year-old son, Jack, together.
Paltrow, referring to her marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, said she never thought she would be divorced.
“I never wanted to get divorced,” Paltrow said. “I didn’t want to marry the father of my children, theoretically. But I’ve learned more about myself through that process than I could think of.”
The two split two children together, daughter aged 16, and son Moshe, 14.
The GOOP founder is now married to producer Brad Falchuk.
“And because I focused on accountability, I was then able to find the most amazing man and create something I had never done before with Brad, my husband,” she said.
Farris is now joining cinematographer Michael Barrett. Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019.
