Apple Store security guard stabbed over face mask controversy in NYC

The suspect is absconding.

Officers responded at the West 14th Street location in Manhattan at approximately 6:20 a.m. ET, Lieutenant Thomas Antoinetti said.

Antoinetti said the victim, a 37-year-old male, whose identity was not publicly disclosed, did not have life-threatening wounds and was referred to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

One witness, Roberto Monticello, said he saw the victim and the police respond, CNN affiliate is telling WABC“I saw him when they carried him on a stretcher, there were about five or six policemen followed by two paramedics, but I saw the police running and running backwards.”

According to Antoinetti, the suspect was last seen entering a subway station on 14th Street, and no weapons were found at the scene.
