CNN finds Uygar children stranded in China – CNN Video

Amnesty International reports that China’s policies towards ethnic Uygar Muslims have divided thousands of families, as some children are prevented from leaving their Xinjiang region of China to live abroad with their parents. The US and other countries have termed China’s treatment of Uigars as genocide. Beijing strongly denied the allegations, insisting that its actions to combat religious extremism and curb terrorism were justified. With Uyghur parents desperate for answers, CNN’s David Klaver traveled to the heavily-surveyed Xinjiang region, leaving his children behind.
