College baseball player dies after joint surgery in Virginia

A college baseball player died of complications from surgery shortly after completing his freshman season at George Mason University in Virginia, according to the school and a funeral home.

According to the Holloway Funeral Home, the player, Sang Ho Baek, 20, died on June 12 at a TidalHealth medical facility in Salisbury, MD, which is handling his service. Scott Morgan, a partner of Mr Beck, said Mr Beck died after complications from so-called Tommy John surgery, a procedure to repair a torn ligament on the inside of the elbow.
