‘Dear White People’ Jacqueline Moore boycotts Netflix over Dave Chappelle’s anti-transgender jokes


Chappelle’s special, “The Closer,” includes several minutes of jokes about trans people and the LGBTQ community. CNN has contacted Netflix for comment on Moore’s exclusion and criticism of Chappelle’s special and is waiting to hear back. CNN has also contacted a representative for Chappelle and is awaiting comment.

Moore transitioned during the making of the show’s last season, she told wrap, and was met with respect and support from his colleagues. But seeing Chappelle’s most recent special prompted her to sever her relationship with the streaming service, she said. He tweeted that Chappelle was once “one of these”. “Promoting the TERF ideology (which we did yesterday by giving it a platform) directly harms trans people is not a neutral act,” Fields tweeted. “It’s not an argument with two sides. It’s an argument with trans people who want to survive and people who don’t want us to be.”
