Former crown prince of Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding to support the king

The letter stated that the prince “will always remain a supporter of His Majesty the King and his Crown Prince.”

“The national interest must remain above all, and we must all stand behind His Majesty the King in efforts to protect Jordan and his national interests, and ensure the best for the people of Jordan,” it read.

At the bottom of the letter, Hamza – the oldest son of the late King Hussein of Jordan and his American-origin wife Queen Noor – signed with a note indicating that he is at the home of his uncle Prince Hassan.

According to an earlier statement by Royal Hassan on Monday, King Hassan was appointed by King Abdullah II to deal with the dispute and Hassan also signed the letter.

Family feud

On Saturday, Prince’s video statement said he was told by the Jordanian army that he should not leave his home, suggesting that he had been arrested from home.

King Abdullah appointed Hamza as crown prince in 1999 before withdrawing the title in 2004.
