Frances McDormand’s third Oscar win puts her one step closer to the most respected Best Actress


McDoramand won the Best Actress award on Sunday night at the 93rd Academy Awards for her role “Nomadland.”

She previously won the Best Actress Oscar in 2018 for her roles in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and 1997 in “Fargo”.

If she wins another win in this category during her career, she will face the late Kathryn Hepburn, who has the most wins out of four.

McDormand played the role of Fern in “Nomadland”, about a woman who lives in her van and travels across the Midwest.

Chloe ZhaoThe director of “Nomaland” became the first woman of color and the first woman of Asian descent to earn the Best Director at the Oscars on Sunday. The film also won the prestigious award Best Picture Award.
