Wilson recently shared that she and her husband of more than 30 years are yet to be vaccinated.
“It’s about listening for the first time in your life: ‘You’re not too old,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Okay, I’ll take!”
“But we are now in the queue because a lot of people have been vaccinated and are opening up to the next level,” she said.
The couple was diagnosed while in Australia. Hanks was filming the film Elvis Presley directed by Baja Lavaraman in which Hanks played the singer’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, and Wilson was on tour for his latest album, “Halfway to Home.”
Wilson told “Today” that he had discovered the antibodies “were extraordinary because you knew you had some protection. That’s why this vaccine is helping people.”
“To see people hugging each other for the first time in a year, grandparents hugged their grandchildren, people hugged their parents, it’s nothing like that,” she said. “It really is a gift.”
