Boulder’s Police Chief Maris Harold said the investigation into Monday’s shooting at King Soopers Supermarket in Boulder was too complex, and would take no less than five days to complete.
According to police, ten people, including 51-year-old Boulder police officer Eric Talley, were shot dead. Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody and is being treated for injuries.
Michael Dufferty, Boulder County District Attorney, said local, state and federal partners would share the investigation as well as prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Dougarty promised the victims’ families that they would do everything “to get justice in this case.”
“We’re going out to make sure to reach the right result,” he said.
U.S. Attorney Matthew Kirsch, acting for the District of Colorado, said Dufferty would be supported by “the full weight of federal federal enforcement.”
