Spelling and McDermott tied the knot in 2006. The couple are parents to daughters Stella, 13, and Hattie, 9, and sons Liam, 14, Finn, 8, and Beau, 4.
In 2014, McDermott admitted to cheating on Spelling and documented the repercussions of his infidelity on his TV series “True Tori”.
This week, Spelling appeared to confirm that she and her husband are having another tough time in their marriage.
“You know what? Right now, my kids and dog sleep on my bed,” she said.
“So, he’s in the guest room,” Lewis attempted to clarify. Spelling remained calm, responding, “She’s in a room.”
According to Spelling, she and McDermott stopped sharing a bed after leaving for “another country” to film an unspecified project.
“Since he left — it’s not cool, you guys — but since he left, he went to film in another country for six months, they all stayed with me,” Spelling explained. “So, I still have four with me in the bedroom who have yet to go back to their rooms.”
Lewis quipped: “It sounds healthy. Yes. Takes co-sleeping to another level.”
As well as her four children, ages 4 to 13, Spelling also said she had three dogs with her while she slept.
While it is less common in the West, in some cultures, parents sleep close to their baby or in the same bed after weaning.
Although co-sleeping can be controversial, celebrities including Tia Mowry-Hardricht, Angelina Jolie and Gwen Stefani are all advocates. “Clueless” star Alicia Silverstone even devoted an entire chapter of her 2014 book “The Kind Mama” to the practice.
“Sharing a bed with baby means you can better tune in to her needs, which in turn builds security and trust,” she wrote.
