What to do this weekend


You are welcome. August begins on Sunday, a new month, a great time to set an intention for the weeks ahead. There is much that is uncertain, that we cannot detect or control right now. Doing what we can to add some predictability or structure to the days can help make things feel a little more coherent.

start small. In fact, stay small. With all make a routine, adding some structure doesn’t take much time. For example, you can choose one of the new books coming in august And plan to read 20 minutes a day. This is a modest, perhaps mundane, goal, but one that is easily accomplished and is under your influence.

This month, I’m going to watch the documentary “Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Wrath,” about the music festival that became a “hell of overflowing porta-potties, hungry and thirsty festivals, horrific sexual assaults, arson and even deaths” and “Enemy of the State” About Air National Guard veteran Matt DeHart. I plan to complete Gerald Durrell’s “My Family and Other Animals” An excellent recommendation for a relaxing read from Tina Jordan of The Books Desk, and to visit the other books in Durrell’s trilogy about her family’s years living in Corfu. I have some exercise challenges that I set for myself. I am on a good flossing streak which I plan to maintain.

These plans are not grand. They are not the entirety of one big and exciting life, but the scaffolding beneath it. Those big plans – to socialize, to travel, to return to work on site – may be in flux. We learn more about the Delta Edition. What’s not in flow? What can you decide to do and then move on?
