Woody Allen again denies sexual abuse allegations in rare interview

The famous director said that he believes his 35-year-old daughter so far accepts the charge.

“She was a good kid and I believe she thinks it through,” Allen said. “I don’t believe she’s making it up. I don’t believe she’s lying. I believe she believes that.”

CNN reached out to Farrow for comment.

Allen, 85, has consistently denied the allegations and has never been charged. In 1992, a pediatrician treating Dylan Farrow claimed that Allen had molested him. Shortly afterwards, Allen filed for custody of his three children, including Dion, Mia Farrow and media outlets began to accuse the case.

Investigators concluded that the small pharaoh was not abused, According to The New York Times, which covered custody proceedings.
At the time, Acting Justice Elliot Willak of the State Supreme Court of New York stated that it was unlikely that Mr. Allen could be prosecuted for sexual abuse based on the evidence. The newspaper reported. “But when a team of experts concluded that Dylan was not abused, the judge said he found the evidence inconclusive.”

“I loved my father,” Farrow said during a 2018 interview. “I respected him. He was my hero. And he obviously doesn’t get away with what he did, but it makes the betrayal and injury more intense.”

Farrow is one of several children adopted by Mia Farrow and is one of two Alan adopted during a decade-long relationship with the actress.

The younger Farrow alleged that his father molested him on August 4, 1992, at his mother’s Connecticut home.

Allen told “CBS Sunday Morning” of the accusation, “There was no argument on its face.”

“Why would a 57 year old man and never in my life be accused of anything, I’m suddenly going to drive to Mia’s country house amid a controversial custody battle,” he said. “I didn’t think any investigation was needed for this.”

He also addressed his relationship with Sun-Yi Previn, whom Mia Farrow was adopted along with composer André Previn.

Ellen’s relationship with Mia Farrow ended when she discovered nude photos of her 21-year-old daughter in the then 56-year-old filmmaker’s apartment.

“The last thing anyone in the world wanted was to hurt someone’s feelings,” Allen said. “What we wanted to do, was eventually to realize that we had a relationship.”

The couple has been married for 23 years now and has adopted two daughters who are in college, whom Allen said, “They don’t give two girls to anyone they think is a pedophile.”

CNN has reached out to representatives of Allen for additional comment.

A renewed interest has been shown in the allegation in the wake of the fight over Publication of Alan’s recent autobiography, “Apropos of nothing,” and HBO’s new documentary, “Alan V. Farrow.”

HBO is owned by the parent company of CNN.
