Despite fars and anarchy there may be such a premise, there is little or catchy that “Yes Day,” is an average comic Streaming on netflix. Directed by Miguel Arteta, the film follows the Torres family, a sunny and fairly traditional suburban home. In Morning, Dad (Edgar Ramirez) is banned from dancing to mum (Jennifer Garner), Type-A and Kitchen with a finger.
Parent-teachers all feel well by night, when teachers suggest that Torres children suffer from Draconian rules at home. No matter what happens, children build waffle volcanoes at breakfast, scatter toys around the house and appear to be leading life completely. Once the siblings call their mother a funny killer, he schedules a Yes Day to prove them wrong.
Adapted from the children’s book “Yes Day”, the youth sets off a series of desires as the Torres clan engages in the paranormal – but seldom behaves outside. Using slow motion and montage, the film follows the family as they give Mom a makeover, kill a giant sundae and tour a carwash with windows. Later, in the film’s grandest set piece, the siblings take their parents to a game of holding the flag with a water balloon – a sequence that compares to an oddly detailed event for three children Feels less like a celebrated wish.
But although “Yes Day” lacks energy, the jokes are too broad and too safe for the film to emerge as an honest or imaginative journey through family quarrels and compromises. Dad is chased by vengeful birds, Mom fights in a theme park and the children applaud it, sometimes, adults are right to say nothing like this movie.
